Despite the frequency of sign exchange, many contemporary astrologers have little idea how to interpret the pattern, which occurs in natal, horary, and electional astrology.

Technically, 66 distinct house lord exchanges are possible for any given horoscope, although this talk would focus on just three broad classes of mutual reception. Examples of these patterns would be illustrated in the horoscopes of three famous astrologers – Sydney Omarr, Olivia Barclay, and Dane Rudhyar.

Alan Annand (BA Lit, BSc Math & Physics), is a Canadian astrologer, palmist and author with extensive experience in both eastern and western astrology. He is a graduate of the American College of Vedic Astrology, and a former tutor for the British Faculty of Astrological Studies.
