Thanks to all who helped make International Astrology Day a rousing success! That includes those who "just" came and listened to the presentations, maybe made some new friends, chatted with old ones and enjoyed being a part of a growing community of astrologers.
Join us at UAC!
SFAS along with other West Coast astrological groups will have an information table at the United Astrology Conference. Volunteers are needed to help keep the table open. In the vendor's hall this will be a great place to hang out with local friends and to meet new people. At conferences we usually run into locals who aren't familiar with local resources, so this booth will make it easier to make new connections with our neighbors and to let folks coming to the Bay Area know when and where to meet the astrologers. This is a great opportunity to network for the group and for yourself! Please contact Fabienne at events@sfastrologicalsociety.com to volunteer.

General Meeting Info
SFAS invites you to join us on the last Thursday of the month for a lively astrological presentation, discussion and excellent company.
Regular meetings start at 7:30 pm and are held at the Fort Mason Center, Building C, Room C-260 -- in San Francisco's Marina District. Parking and public transit available.
(In November and December, to accomodate the holidays -- and when there are special events at Ft. Mason -- meetings may be earlier in the month, but still always on Thursdays.)
Regular Meetings, open to the general public, cost $7 for members and $12 for non-members.
New Rates Begin in JulyBeginning July 2012 regular meetings will cost $10 for members and $15 for non-members.
$2 discounts off meeting fees for:
- Students with a student ID card
- Senior citizens (age 65+),
- People experiencing their Uranus Return (born 1927 or earlier) with membership get in for free!

How astrology can help you do what you're good at for people you like
For the typical astrologer, marketing sounds off-putting - too calculated, too crassly commercial. But guess what: The minute you apply for a job, ask for a date, or yes, try to get someone to pay attention to your astrological products and services, you're in the marketing business. How can you find the people who are in tune with what you have to offer? Most of us don't have formal training in marketing, but we do have a secret weapon: we know astrology. Sure, you can use that knowledge to help you choose good times to take action and to gain insight into important individuals. But why stop there? Astrology can help you get a handle on the core principles of marketing itself- to figure out what you have to offer that's really special, and how to attract people who are in tune with you.
Astrologer and writer April Elliott Kent is the author of The Essential Guide to Practical Astrology (Alpha/Penguin, 2011) and Star Guide to Weddings (Llewellyn 2008). Her articles have appeared in The Mountain Astrologer and Dell Horoscope magazines, on the websites Beliefnet.com and Tarot.com, and in Llewellyn's Moon Sign and Sun Sign books.
