Speaker Change -- November

We are very sorry to report that Phil Sedgwick will not be able to be with us in November. The good news, however, is that Dana Gerhardt will be here from Oregon to talk on Thursday about "Meeting the Planets with a Magical Mind" and she will give a workshop that Saturday, November 20 from 10am to 5pm on "Venus Retrograde: Desire, Seduction, and Mastery"

You can save $5 and pre-register for the Saturday Workshop via Pay-Pal!

Astrology Classes for Beginners!

SFAS Satellite Classes
Starting in October we are offering a series of beginning classes in astrology to meet the first Thursday of the month in a living room near you! Focusing on one planet at a time in the charts of the students this is a great, hands-on approach to learning the basics of astrology. San Francisco's International Astrology Day was such a success that we are already planning for next year on Saturday March 19, 2011!
Thanks especially to our wonderful speakers, and also to the volunteers who made it possible. Of course everyone who showed up contributed to its success. Without the participation of speakers, volunteers and all our attendees we couldn't have done it!
Thanks to all of you!
See you next year!

Our 2010 Calendar is Online!

CARPOOLING
Progress your transit!

With members coming in from all over the SF Bay Area we encourage carpooling. We now have a Facebook page where you can offer or ask for a ride, or otherwise connect with members between meetings!

Join us on Facebook & Meet-Up!

Connect with other astrologers and keep up to date on our Facebook and/or our Meet-Up page! Each is another way you can leave feedback on our events, ask other members any questions you may have about astrology, offer any ideas for discussion, suggest future events, and get more involved in the astrological community. And at our Facebook page we also invite you to arrange carpools with other members and friends.

Non-profit prophets?

We are happy to announce our 501(c) 3 status. Donations to SFAS are now tax-deductable!
You can even make a donation on Paypal!

The Ascendant – Your Entry Vehicle

The Ascendant: How do you face the world? Are you centered? Are you poised? How well do you handle blind dates and job interviews? Your astrological ascendant, the sign rising in the east at your birth, is the face you wear in the world, your social self, your astrological “clothing.” It’s just as important in your birth chart as your Sun and Moon. How well do you really understand it?

Jodie Forrest has maintained a busy local and national practice as an astrological counselor, teacher and writer since 1983, when she joined forces with her husband, astrologer Steven Forrest. They travel widely to lecture on astrological topics, and co-authored the book Skymates: Love, Sex and Evolutionary Astrology (Seven Paws Press, 2002). Jodie has written for magazines and newspapers, published poetry, and her articles have appeared in all the major astrological journals. She writes the astrology column for South magazine. With Steven, she wrote the text for a pair of relationship reports, The Sky We Share and The Single Sky, a joint project with Alphee Lavoie's AIR Software. Jodie also manages the Forrests' website. She has begun offering a series of workshops on the ascendant. Her latest project is her new book, THE ASCENDANT.
