Discovered in 1977, Chiron has been a fascinating addition to the astrological pantheon. This key planet offers reconciliation, re-balancing, and restoration to our lives. As the natural complement to Pluto’s intensity and finality, and as a modern ruler of Libra, asteroid/comet Chiron plays a significant role in the soul’s evolutionary path, offering hope and promise. By revisiting his bittersweet myth, and looking at his placement in the birth chart, we’ll explore Chiron as representing what we long for, where we need mentoring, and also what we must ultimately become.
John Chinworth is an Astrologer from Seattle, Washington. His experience of working with developmentally disabled and resource students for more than fifteen years, as both teacher and mentor, has given him a strong sense of compassion for others, and has made him become intimate with centaur-god Chiron’s reconciling energy.
John has studied with Steven Forrest, Julene Packer-Louis, and continues to enhance his technique by attending classes, workshops, and conferences regularly. He has been reading natal charts for twenty years, and serves on the board of the Washington State Astrological Association and has lectured at WSAA and at NORWAC.
